Ya I guess I was just surprised to see that while stereo was off, current draw increased with USB thumb drive connected. (via a cable to the rear USB port). I did note that the thumb drive activity light stays on when stereo is off. This might something specific to rear port USB connections; I'd never seen same on my Kenwood CD equipped deck. Figured others' might want to know about that.

I'd thought to use the Su circuit as you have done but I think I'll re install the stereo "kill switch".
