Hi Stephen,

Prior to West river Westies there was a Gathering called something like Transporters by the tunnel. They would have a caravan to the top of Mt. Greylock as part of the event. This is not something I’d recommend! Long steep twisty road up, and brake killing descent! I’m glad it is now about tubing down a river!

Glad your dark twisty climb resulted in finding Boy Scouts and nothing scarier in the dark twisty woods.

My wife reminds me the weirdness began with the dark, seemingly endless ascent and her urging me to turn around. THEN we found the scouts.

I don’t ski any longer but I joined a private Greylock ski club. they run a very old tow line. I love the shared team atmosphere. But, even better they need summer activity and with the trails through the woods and private camping areas I’m glad to be that summer person. magic place for a VW bus and a person and dog that loves to walk in the woods. Still, I’m looking forward to a boy scout free snow shoe, but maybe not to the top of the mountain and light house. > > Mount Grey lock is located in North western Mass not far from the VT border. > > Eric Caron > > On Dec 22, 2017, at 06:27, Stephen Grisanti <bike2vcu@yahoo.com> wrote: > > We've been there, one of those weird epic camping trips where you roll in expecting a typical overnight and wind up in a trippy experience. As I recall, it was some huge gathering of Boy Scouts in every other camping space and we were the only civilians. On top of that, there was a lighthouse to contend with. > Lighthouses@Lighthouse Digest ... Mt.
