Thanks Dennis. No, the temp gauge gets to its' normal spot. Just takes
longer. Not directly related to thermostats but another cause of poor heat
in my van is the way I modified the then air cooled engine heat exchange
box at dash to accept a heater core. Won't be doing that again. LOL. And
I'm sure the non OE type coolant pump isn't helping either. As you've
noted, it probably doesn't move coolant as well as the OE type with cone
shaped impeller. Anyhow..... digressed.
