The most basic list of all is the tools that came with the vehicle: Flat screwdriver, #2 Phillips, 10 x 13 mm open end wrench.

You can add on from there until you have a garage full of tools.

I'd start with #3 Phillips driver, 3/8" and 1/2" drive ratchets and breaker bars 3/8" and 1/2" drive extensions (short, medium, long) and universal joints 3/8" drive metric deep socket set 1/2" drive metric socket set (3/8" drive metric socket set) 3/8" drive beam-type torque wrench 1/2" drive click-type torque wrench (1/4" drive sockets etc)

12 oz ball peen hammer 16 oz ball peen hammer Two or three pound hammer Brass or copper drift for hammering on things without injuring them (set of pin punches)

Set of metric open end wrenches Set of metric box end wrenches (Set of half-moon and/or s-shaped wrenches) (Set of metric flare nut wrenches) (Set of metric ratcheting box end wrenches)

Mechanic's creeper Four wheel chocks Four jack stands (garage jack) (pair of wheel ramps) Battery or AC trouble light Propane torch Box 'o rags or blue paper shop towels (cheaper in roll than box)

Wheel bearing grease Spray lithium grease TriFlow or similar PB Blaster or Aero Kroil penetrating oil Brake cleaner

Cheap digital multimeter -- the $6 one from Harbor Fright is fine. Some 16-ga or 18-ga jumper wires with alligator clips

I could go on for a long time but there are some things to think about.

Yrs, d
