HaHaHa, you figured out my intended reply before I could send it. Also, all should check the grounding part of that current path. This time of year it is not uncommon to find those electric gremlins about the Vanagon.

So this summer we went camping and the very first time we stopped for lunch the van would not restart. Unloaded gear, folded down seat, removed engine cover and used my remote starter switch and engine sprang to life. This same old thing happened in about 300 miles when I stopped for gas. Again checked battery 12.8 volts, unload van remove cover, install remote starter switch- engine springs to life. We drove north up 101 to just south of Eureka were we camped for the night. The rest of the trip we had no problem until we were returning home and at Colverdale van would not start again. So I Checked with my new ignition switch No go. No problem, used remote switch and engine cranks to life. Got home all safe and sound drove down to Napa to get a rebuilt starter. As I was getting ready to remove the old starter I note that the stud on the starter solenoid is loose. Ah Ha I tightened the jan nut on the stud and put rebuilt starter back in my tool box. NO Mas Problems with my st arter. Moral of story.... check all your current paths Happy New Year to AllBill 84 Westy Tiico
