So not a thermostat problem. Splitting the bottom of the LED is about 90C with an OEM sender.

In my experience, the front heater is good for your feet and keeping the windshield clear. The rear heater is the one that controls the overall cabin temp in cold weather, even in front. It not only gets first crack at the hot coolant, it also is working with cabin air instead of air coming directly from outside, so it gets more than one pass.
