I run a few email lists through my hosting provider Webfaction, who use the Mailman open source software. It would be zero marginal cost to have them fire up another list for Vanagon.com on my account. The cost to create a separate Webfaction account for this purpose would be $120 per year minimum. This is the best supported email list hosting I've found, after trying a bunch of different things. Webfaction does not support hosting such email lists at the customer's domain, i.e. gerry.vanagon.com. So I usually set up email forwarding and web redirects so most stuff doesn't change. What would change is the set of email commands and, of course, the appearance and function of the web control panel. I have the time right now to set this up, support a migration, and get the current list maintainers up to speed. That's Tom Carrington and Jim Arnott, if the lists's web site is up to date. Jim, if you (and Tom) would like to consider this, please contact me. Here's an example of one of my email lists: https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/marker12 (in support of http://marker12.org/) Webfaction: https://www.webfaction.com/?aid=9485 (Full disclosure: I get a cut of new accounts created through that link.) |
