I was afraid to drive home but I drove slowly through the parking lot…. nothing dropped out. It must be in the bumper!!

I was also worried about the coolant — driving the 6 miles from Laguna to Newport. But it was cool and raining and no coolant was lost into the rag I wedged in there.

I feel less dumb now. Ordered the replacement cap and hope to have a spare for the next butter-finger incident.

[Glad it wasn’t the oil cap!!]

Thanks everyone I feel better.

Has anyone ever dropped their coolant cap behind the license plate?

My hands were slippery in the rain and it dropped behind and just DISAPPEARED.

I felt like a dope, but it was actually not very hard to do.

Tell me I am not the only one?
