Hi Ken,The oil cooler installation is very effective at controlling my oil temperature, especially on those long steep hills. I have both oil temperature and oil pressure gauges on my 1990 WBX, so I was very pleased with the Before and After installation numbers. On a hot summer day coming out of Death Valley, my oil temp never got above 235 and my oil pressure stayed up around 40 psi. Going down those long steep grades, the oil thermostat keeps the oil temp up around 200, I've been using Liqui Moly 10W-40 semi-synthetic motor oil and haven't had any occurrences of the oil buzzer coming on after exiting the highway.I'm very happy with the quality of the oil cooler kit. Chris did a great job with the installation instructions and I could really tell that he spent a lot of time thinking about the kit.Feel free to email or call me and we can discuss this.Kind regards,Mike M805-469-1308

Hello Michael, I was reading about the Vanistan oil cooler. Can you tell me what it does for you? Do you notice lower temperatures? Are oil changes more difficult? Does your oil pressure alarm come on after long drives?  Thank You, Ken,(941) 323-4710 From: Michael Magnani <mfmagnani@SBCGLOBAL.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2018 10:50 AM Subject: Re: Air intake ducting Hi Bob,I installed a Vanistan Oil Cooler on my 2.1 WBX, which came with replacement ducting.I still have my original that you can have. It's 19 cm inches long and 7 cm in diameter. If it will work for you, I'll ship it to you, no charge.Kind regards,Mike M

Anyone have a source for the flexible air duct that runs up the right rear pillar from the air box to the air intake snorkel?  I changed my air filter and found bits of paper and tinfoil from the duct deteriorating on the inside.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Bob C
