So sorry about this. I know how it feels, as a tree fell and crushed our beloved Westy some years ago. We had camped in that Westy since my oldest child (now 19) was small enough to sleep in a bassinet on the passenger seat. It was like saying goodbye to an old friend. That being said, we bought another and made new memories, so all wounds heal with time.

I went through the insurance company mess. Their first offer was about $3k and we settled at about $12k. ($12k was reasonable because that Westy had 200k miles and a reconstructed-vehicle title.) When they made the first offer, I told the adjuster that if he could find me another full camper in good shape that I could buy for $3k I'd take his offer. He actually tried but of course failed. Meanwhile I found actual sold listings for similar campers throughout the U.S. and presented those. When their second offer was only $1000 more than the first, I told them they were being unrealistic and threatened to bring it to state arbitration. (Don't know if/how that works in your state.) That worked. They responded with a serious offer, about $10k, and we negotiated up to $12k from there. Doubtless your insurance company, too, will start low and hope you're foolish enough to take it. Stick to your guns. Good luck!
