Subject: Gasket assembly removal
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi All. I am currently trying to figure out how to replace the gasket assembly on the forward side of the drivers side door. This is the oval one that one's speaker wires passes through. The gasket is held by a yellow/brass colored oval flanged piece that fits loosely into the oval hole. The actual gasket goes on a flange around the forward edge of that piece. I would like to remove both the metal piece and the gasket, hopefully together, from a donor door I have. My ol' eyes aren't as good as they once were, and I can't see a way to remove that piece from the donor door. Anyone done this, or know a way to remove and replace this gasket assembly without destroying something? Am I foolish to try to remove the metal part, and should only tease the rubber part off and put it on the existing metal part currently on the receiving door? Any help would be appreciated.

Dave B.
