Having to drive my son's Honda while my '88 Vanagon is laid up for engine conversion.

Keeping up with highway traffic - 80 mph - engine quits suddenly. No warning. Like someone turned off the light switch. Car slowed to 60, the power came back on. Gently accelerated back up, and again the light switch thing. I found - and find- if I cruise betwwen 50 and 60 it runs fine. No worries, not even a sputter. Someone told me they thought there was an overspeed safety shutoff switch on some years of these cars, but I've not found any mention of it anywhere, Has anyone experienced anything like this??

John
