Subject: coolant leak repair
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

Has anyone used, know anything definitive (or at least more than I do) about the GoWesty product to repair the ends of the long coolant pipes under a Vanagon? My 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Campmobile with 2.1 L waterboxer and original plastic pipes has a leak at the end of one pipe. One mechanic shop recommended replacing with stainless. But GoWesty has a repair kit with brass inserts for the hoses that is claimed on the GoWesty web site to be great.

This one:

Another mechanic shop also recommended the stainless pipes, but when I showed the tech (very experienced long time VW including Vanagon professional) the kit on the GoWesty site, he thought it would serve quite well.

At any rate, all comments will be welcome and hopefully useful.
