I usually go the other way, from bottom to top. I usually feed a garden wire (that stiffer green covered steel wire, to hold flowers straight upwards next to a wooden stick) from light to hole in A-pillar (the one facing forward in vehicle, opposite the door light switch). Then I duct tape the wire to that garden wire and pull it back up. The difficult part is to find the correct passthrough in the upper roof corner.
