Subject: Brake job
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi all. The other day I pulled my rear drums to check the brake adjustment on my 87 Westy. The stars are such a pain and usually frozen. To my surprise, I found that instead of being dry and dusty, there was some gunk in there. Oh nuts. Looks like a bearing (inner) seal gave way. OK, so now I do a brake job. What is the lists wisdom on shoes, cylinders, bearings, seals etc. that are the best? I have heard that Go Westy makes some shoes that fit well, but are there others? Being on the east coast it may make a difference in shipping. As I think about it, maybe I'll replace the front disk pads also. Any ideas on that one? Thanks for all. First the starter, now the brakes, and I think my I-4 engine needs a new oxy sensor. The bus must know it's spring time and time to start crawling around under it.

Dave B.
