Thought you all might be interested in this. Many people, including myself, wrote comments to the Park Service, and it WORKED! See, enough people Can change things. Although, I haven't seen what changes are being planned.

Dear David,

Because of you, the National Park Service is backing down from its plan to triple fees at some of America's most popular parks!

In the days after the Park Service announced their plan for sharp fee increases, more than 100,000 comments flooded their inboxes. Nearly all -- 98%! -- opposed the plan. And because of that intense public pressure, they went back to the drawing board and today announced a plan with smaller fee changes instead of sharp, sweeping increases.

This is a victory for national parks -- and it's a victory for the park advocates like you who forced the Park Service to do the right thing.

Share the news with your friends and family! The Facebook post below has all the information they'll need -- and they'll appreciate seeing that advocacy can make a real difference for America's national parks!

I know it can seem as if parks are under attack from all directions. And that's exactly why your voice has been so important.

In October, the Park Service proposed massive fee increases during peak season at 17 national parks, including Yellowstone, Yosemite, Arches and Rocky Mountain. The plan risked pricing many American families out of their parks, and it caused a groundswell of opposition. As Secretary Zinke said today, Americans "made their voices heard" -- and it made a difference.

David, I want you to know that today's victory could only have happened because of your advocacy for parks. Thank you. And thank you for all that you do.

Sincerely,

Theresa Pierno President and CEO
