I guess I'll be working on the engine idle for my 1985 1.9 liter until the
day I depart this planet. When starting cold, it idles fine for about 10
seconds then shakes and fluctuates until it warms up to operating
temperature, then idles fine. My latest check is the breather tower. I
plugged the hose and tower with rubber stoppers, but now I'll have to wait
until the engine cools down to see what happens. I was surprised, though,
at how much air is blowing out of the tower. Is that normal? It seems like
that much air would cause running problems.
