Hi Ed and Mark, I purchased the GW cargo box and the locking strap last year. I have to say I don’t love it. It is just a gun case. It sort of hurts my joyful spirit to be carrying around a gun case. And, I think it is sort of a temptation. the locking roof rack bar is very nice but expensive. I only have one for the case but two or three would be more useful but I’m not going to spend the money. I’d gladly sell my box locally for half price. The box is rather shallow get once full it can be very heavy if you chose to try to bring it up or down. It is awkward to load and unload from any position including the window. I keep hoping for another option. What I’d love is a cap for the roof rack on hinges. Say a inch or two tall rim attached to the carriage loops and then hinged either across the front or down the center. Then things can be stored out of sight and out of wind. Can someone fabricate that please! Eric Caron

with an optional lock strap

that's pretty solid.

I picked up a set at an RV shop that works fine. Any brand will do.

That's going to be tough. I don't recall ever seeing that on the sites of
the usual suspects.
4. Considering placing the starter battery in the engine compartment and

One under the driver and another under the sink would allow you to not mess
with your starter battery. The engine compartment is cramped enough IMHO.
Good luck,
