Subject: rear ventelation question
Content-type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi listers,

While happily setting up my van for camping I knocked a cap off a bolt holding on the op top support and it went into the rear ventilation channel. I took off the small vent that opens and shuts to access the area to retrieve it. I found that either side of the vent was blocked firmly by foam. It felt like the kind you would make a mattress topper out of.

So, this explains why no matter how much I played with the front and door vent no air seemed to come from the vent.

Is this a thing done to the passenger side of the westfalia camper for a reason or did a Previous owner do this for some reason?

thanks for any info.

If done for no good reason I’d like to remove it to see if I can get air flow back there as I like to keep all things working. If it belongs in there I’ll leave it.

Thanks for any info.

Eric Caron 85 GL Auto Westfalia.
