Many folks do not like to travel facing rearwards. From a safety perspective There seems to be a reason VW dropped this option so quickly. When I purchased Fun Bus I went to order all the parts to install one of those seats. I think I was looking at almost $1,300 back in 1988 for all the bits. VW actually blocked the sale of those parts.

I would tend to agree, but the wife seems to prefer the forward facing option for the kids.

I have found a pedestal single seat in the Toronto area, but the asking price is not reasonable.
