If you go to the site and click the “install time” tab you’ll see that it will cost an estimated 10-12 hrs for an experienced VW mechanic’s first time install and 8 hrs for a VW mechanic that has already installed this system. An amateur home mechanic will need 14+ hrs.

I checked the Samba forum a few weeks ago to see if people were sharing their experiences. Most people had to do extensive tinkering past the initial install, but were pleased with the results. At that time there weren't any stories of people giving up and going back to Digifant, though.
