I believe our tanks are ASME as opposed to DOT which are supposed to be perm= anently mounted, thicker steel and heavier. They don't require re-certificat= ion. I recently removed my 37 year old tank, took it to the sandblaster and then = to my local propane supplier. They pressure tested it and replaced my relief= valve. Then used a can of Rustoluem and looks good as new. Here's a picture of the before/after. It cost me $47.16 (including a full ta= nk of propane) https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bmCglJNj0gE/W1ecsnzAyZI/AAAAAAAAATc/rhXV4lXXbpYcG= oCYA8QMFQMAVzzxRaVkQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_5754.JPG -----Original Message----- From: "Alfred Bagdan" [abagdan@SHAW.CA] Date: 07/24/2018 01:58 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Propane tank certification Hi all, Do I need to get the 33 year old propane tank of my 85 Vanagon , recertified= Canada?
