I believe our tanks are ASME as opposed to DOT which are supposed to be perm=
anently mounted, thicker steel and heavier. They don't require re-certificat=
ion.

I recently removed my 37 year old tank, took it to the sandblaster and then =
to my local propane supplier. They pressure tested it and replaced my relief=
 valve. Then used a can of Rustoluem and looks good as new.

Here's a picture of the before/after. It cost me $47.16 (including a full ta=
nk of propane)
