Assuming the 18 Watts spec is correct at 12 - 13 Volts, that's 1.5 - 1.4 Amp draw for each light? So 3 Amps + stock back up light bulbs is? I see a dedicated 10 Amp fuse and 1.0 wires in the 1990 Bentley back up light diagram. If it was me.....

If keeping the stock back up bulbs, I'd calculate entire Amp load then figure if the OE wire size and length could safely carry that load. If yes, I'd tie into the reverse light switch positive wire. If the potential load was too high, maybe replacing the OE reverse light bulbs with LED's would cure that?
