I wasn't going to use a custom nozzle. I tried my old standby pistol type which I've always used, very inefficiently I might add. It didn't work because of the rubber flap in the new design. With the straight, rubber covered nozzle, which fit nicely into the hole, I got most of the water actually in the tank and not all over me. So, you don't NEED a new nozzle, but it works better.
