I once had to nurse Ras Bully Split (’66 Westly) home using a tightly a pair of nylons (volunteered by a passenger) in lieu of the broken belt.

The one time I didn’t have at least one spare on board (I had stopped to help a beetle in need a few days earlier and had not gotten around to putting another belt under the rear bench).
