Having the Rad' get Hot Enough to Trigger the Rad'Fan is a pretty good sign that You are

getting Good Flow through the Thermostat & around the Temp'Sensors ~ Are You Sure You got

the Correct Sensor in the Position & the Correct Connector back on the Correct Sensor ~

Have You checked to see if there is any Resistance on the Ground Leg for the Gauge Sensor ~
