Are you sure you have a real OEM faucet? By this point I think most or all of them have given up. I too bought a Bus Depot replacement for the original (OEM or not, what came in my Westy) and it worked as you describe. Resistant, sticky, always sketchy. It finally gave up after numerous applications of epoxy and adjustment of the internal switch. So, I did some checking around because I didn't want to pay all that money for another balk faucet. What I read, consistently, was that Delta 6, the company who made them from some old molds over a decade or so, had made new molds and the product was far superior to the previous effort. Bus Depot said the same thing. They are not, as far as I know, the only company retailing the Delta 6 product. But I gave the BD product a chance and was pleasantly surprised at how much better the fit and operation was. It's perfect, well worth the money and not to be confused with what was on the market up until about four years ago.
