Most of my Vanagon problems have been my own fault... At first, I'd just blow it, like not properly bleeding the coolant. Then I would often ignore things I knew were due, cause I use my van for fun, and staying home working on it isn't that fun for me. Today on the way home from biking it quit coming in to the town of Wasco, Oregon...downshfted from ,5th then got back on the gas and.....buhhhh! Nothing! I nursed it into the shade on mainstreet and thought...no gas! The bartender lady from the tavern was on her usual bench outside of the bar, no customers... I asked if the gas place(at the feed co-op) and she said no, but she'd call the Mayor, who'd come down with her card and get me some gas... I thanked her and said I had an idea ..Dug into my spares, swapped out the fuel pump and the filter and all was good again...the fuel pump was almost new, changed from the OEM one, ,"just in case" ..the OEM one is back in service. The bartender gave me a thumbs up as I waved my thanks...
