A few people have asked about my modified switch blank, the one that I inserted a voltmeter into.

I also put a 3-way switch inline with that, and wired one power lead to the main battery and one to the auxiliary battery. I can toggle back and forth to see the two battery's states. My wife, however, most appreciates the middle setting - no power to the display at all. MUCH better at night!

I mounted it under the dash, out of site. This little guy:
