followed that process exactly, 4 times. Did that yesterday, but only once.... I also checked the heater valve and flushed the heater core and bathed in coolant.. we'll see... I put the old thermostat back in, thinking the new one maybe was doing the faulty heater, somehow...The only thing I "fixed" before the new heater problem... So maybe I'm back to where I started.... with two days of "Vanagon plumbing practice" done. At least I can change the thermostat again with my eyes closed...(a good thing, since I always seem to get a face full of coolant). Thanks, I'll let you know if we got the problem solved this time...
