I use 5000 as my redline with my ABA/8 valve hybrid. I use 4000 as my top sustained RPM, like when climbing a mountain in my 4th(I run a stock gear 5sp) you could google your particular motor's redline.. I just picked my own from personal preference and it's been good for over 1000k of my own driving.. bought the motor used.
