my son's 1988 van (WBX 2.1) and mine got that very same problem and it's
very scary because we got stuck a few times...


when it happened to yours (cranks but no start)
- on the black box that sits on the top of the coil, remove the small 2
wires connector, clean it and reconnect. On ours the engine started right
away.


after that we did this
- check and clean all the connectors on the injectors.
- replacing fuel and injectors relays
- replacing Temp2 sensor and clean its connector.
