Hi David, I’ve been following the starter threads carefully. I have a 1.9 auto. Still, Dennis Haynes recently posted links to some reasonable priced “new” starter’s on Amazon. I didn’t see one for my van as the auto said 21. 87 on. But price was about $120.00. I have the adaptor from Carl and a diesel gear reduction starter ready to go in a pinch. It is in my parts shed and in a pinch I can have a friend get it or have it mailed to me. Once I decide to put it on the easier to find starter will be the one I need going forward. In the meantime my van just starts. I think I have the original Dennis email. It was posted very recently. Let me know if you need it forwarded, or just look on Amazon and be surprised that it is there waiting. I’m sad to say I’m not impressed with several GW purchases recently so I’m more likely to source less expensive solutions. Best, Eric Caron 85 GL Auto
