I have an 87 syncro westy, converted to Girling G60s front and Audi 5000 turbo rear. Much, much better than stock and I don't worry about overcooking the brakes now. Something I managed to do twice with the stock setup. It's still 5000 plus pounds and takes a while to stop but even with the really large amount of money it took probably the most worth while money I've spent. [including wheels, tires and probably some other stuff that I don't remember it was over $2000 for the conversion. Had it done. I don't know enough to do work that my life may depend on]. Don't know about GWs version. -------------------------------------------- On Wed, 10/31/18, Mark McCulley <markmcculley@GMAIL.COM> wrote: Subject: GW Bigger Brakes To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Date: Wednesday, October 31, 2018, 5:35 AM Anyone have any experience with the latest version of the GoWesty Bigger Brakes? They went off the market for a while but are back, I think they needed to re-engineer some of the components. Are bigger brakes a worthwhile upgrade for a stock Westy with original engine? I have 16" wheels so that won't be an issue. -Mark '87 syncro Westy |
