All right so I now have my Mahle 87 degree thermostat...(thanks all for the
guidance) it was cheaper than the 80 degree one...so a double win.
Anyway one last question about the job - do I need to jack up the rear of
the van, loosen thermostat valve and coolant cap and also remove some
coolant (several litres) - prior to removing the thermostat housing? Or
can I expect to lose about 1/2 litre by just removing the thermostat
housing and not raising the van or siphoning any coolant?
