Subject: Engine detailing...like from the Craigslist guys
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Wondering if anyone has ever tried getting the engine and bay cleaned up using Craigslist guys.  Of course my first worry is messing up electricals and anything regarding vacuum or fuel.  I've heard of foil wraps and such, and they sound like good ideas.

(FYI:  my engine is a 2.2 Subie, converted about 3 years ago, not by me, about 60,000 miles since then. Was beautiful, now a little grungy here and there.)

My second worry...that they spray on stuff that initially looks good, but then is a dirt magnet.

Yes, I could do it myself.  But I'm hoping that their experience and proper products make for a nice result, a better result.  That they might know what to do and what not to do.  From experience.

So...just kinda wondering if anybody has had any encounters along these lines.  A clean and tidy engine compartment just feels so good.  Disaster stories are welcomed.
