40 front, 50 back.  145/14's.  Ride a little stiff in the front, but I like the handling better.  Tires last longer also.  May be the same for larger tires.  Up just a bit from what is on the door sticker, and what VW engineers thought at the time.  Of course, they were looking for the "floating feeling" for the Vanagon.

the previous owner inflate them at 36psi all around and it feel quite mushy
although it's good on off-road.
