Hi Ken;I just looked at your video.  What year Vanagon is that?  Both you and Eric Caron, who has an 85, said ir removes from below.  The GoWesty video, on a later Vanagon, said remove from top.  My Vanagon is an 87and I can not get it out of that hole behind the headlight.  I am so confused.

That's what I am hoping for.  I can break out the mini grinder and adjust it.  It would just be nice to have the correct size of the hole before I start.

It's been years since I replaced our '87's antenna and it came out without issue. Sounds like that hole is too small but someone else will report with measurements, no doubt.
