Hi Dave,

Great for an older guy! Or even a not so old guy! But, looking at the temp outside you sure waited for a nice warm day to solve this mystery! I think that may be a sign that you are a smart guy!

Glad the bulb switch worked. changing the wires is just another way of doing the same thing.

Be well and I wish you salt free roads!

So I checked the socket. It seems that correct socket orientation make the bulb flash quickly. When inserted the other way, incorrect orientation, the bulb flashed correctly. So I greased up everything and off I go. No wires switched, worked correctly before bulb failure. But I wonder, is the bulb tab orientation different 1137 vs. 1034? Inquiring minds want to know. Anybody out there with both bulbs willing to check to see which filament lines up with the tabs? By the way Eric. I have already been on top of a snowy mountain in temps quite chilly. Still pretty good for an older guy. > > Dave B. > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Eric Caron <eric.caron@ICLOUD.COM> > To: vanagon <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Tue, Dec 18, 2018 11:36 am > Subject: Re: Bulbs > > Hi Dave, > > yes, I bet that fixes it! > > Now why make us wait? get a umbrella and get out there! In fact, it was said that the 1157's might be a bit longer lasting. As soon as it gets a little warmer and/or not raining out here, I am going to check bulb orientation. That may be the whole solution. > > Dave B. > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Dug Smith <dug@DUGBERT.COM <mailto:dug@DUGBERT.COM>> > > To: vanagon <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM <mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM>> > > Sent: Mon, Dec 17, 2018 8:59 am > > Subject: Re: Bulbs > > > > From what I can tell, both have a 27W "high" light :o) > > > > On 12/17/2018 05:45, ddbjorkman@verizon.net <mailto:ddbjorkman@verizon.net> wrote: > >> Absolutely going to try that. I was wondering if there was a difference electrically between the 2 bulbs. > >> Dave B. > > > > toodle pip, > > -- > > Dug Smith | Terry Pratchett: It's almost > > (mailto:dug@dugbert.com <mailto:dug@dugbert.com>) | impossible to ride a rock and roll > > (http://www.dugbert.com <http://www.dugbert.com/>) | motorbike and stay on for three verses.
