Subject: Locked Electric Driver's Lock
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

Greetings,

I have a '91 with electric door locks. Unfortunately, it's been sitting a lot lately and I don't have a trickle charger on it (yet), so the battery got low. I was able to unlock the driver's side door and I heard the slider unlock as well, but when I tried to turn over the engine, it gave one crank and croaked.

Hook the battery up to a charger overnight, which gave it some juice, but not enough to crank (I suspect the battery is toast now). The big change is that the driver's door lock would not unlock. The key would not physically turn counterclockwise, nor can I pull it up from within the car.

I'm hoping one of you will tell me this happens when a battery runs low, but I expect I'm going to need a new door lock (to go along with the new battery I'm about to buy).

Any thoughts?

Thanks mucho, -MB -- ________________________________________________________________________ Mark Belanger - mbelanger@gmail.com
