Absolutely going to try that.  I was wondering if there was a difference electrically between the 2 bulbs.

Hi David,

        I had this happen when I put in a new front signal lamp.  To my surprise my bulb did fit more than one way.  But I think I actually moved two wires on the bulb connector switched the location.  This was on the advice from this list.  And that worked.  The bulb blinks at the normal speed ever since.
