Ok, after a long time with my 84 tintop (with the Westie appliances working) and a well proven inline VW Jetta ABA motor, I'm thinking about selling. The things I'm considering are that these vanagons are becoming cult-camper rigs, and almost too valuable to use like I like... I love driving my 5 sp. and it's hard to beat for an all around rig, but I'm becoming reluctant to use it... I have other rigs that are less rare and certainly easier to replace, should something awful happen. The old faithful Van is sitting home inside right now as I'm on the winter road in my cheapy GM Safari AWD, and it works fine... I guess it might be time to pass on the Vanagon to someone who's able to use it, or who is a real fan and wants a good one to play with.. Mine is un-tarted up... pretty grungy actually, but no rust and all the mechanical stuff is well maintained. I'd give it a 5 of 10, cosmeticly. So what do you all think? Am I being dumb? Any suggestions for an asking price... West coast near Portland Oregon. Thanks, if anyone wants to chime in... D Hanson
