For those that want to increase diameter you could also consider a 215/75-14.

In this size the standard load index is 98 reaching a capacity of 1,664 pounds at 35 psi. Even with derating you have 1,497 and most can be inflated to 44 psi. Just follow the VW inflation pressure for the factory 205/70-14XL offered 87 and later.


Here is also a tire with a 100 load index. Rated to 51 psi.
