Hi all;well, it was a wild 75K miles (you helped Dean), but I must admit I'm disappointed in the rebuilt transaxel FAS put in my '87 Westy. So I'm thinking of the replacement. The wife and I are heading out West this spring to visit friends in Mesa AZ, do the Grand Circle and surrounding area, Rocky Mtns. and a wedding in Ft. Collins. When I do the switch is still to be determined, since only a whine now exists, maybe in 1st and 2nd. So my question is, what is the list feeling on tranny rebuilders? I am aware of more than a few, and have some possible favorites, but I want to know what others have experienced. 75K seems pretty slim to me. I was expecting/hoping for twice that. Maybe that's unrealistic for a rebuild. On the other hand, it's only $ .031per mile. Dave B. |
