It looks and runs great. Had to replace rear bearings and seals. a bunch of sensors, starter, alternator ,ECU, etc. this past summer, but I guess that's just maintenance. More than 75K on it now. Most repairs have been support stuff, as opposed to engine mechanics. Planning on doing May to middle July out in the Mid West. We are planning on doing the Grand Circle of National Parks, Rocky Mountain NP, Monument Valley, and a wedding in Ft. Collins in beginning July. I hope the old beast holds together. On previous trips, we have made out pretty well. Break downs were relatively easy and other VW folks on the way helped out a lot. It's amazing how folks driving a bus (any year) will stop and put themselves out of the way for a stranger on the side of the road with a broken one. Look out St. Louis Volks, and others on the way, I will be looking for places to visit and overnight.

Hi Dave,
And, I hope to check out your bus again in the near future. I have to see how that front end repair came out!
Not to mention how that FAS engine looks in the back!
