Subject: FW: Air recirculate
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"

When I close off all the controls to the heat, there is always some air that seems to get through. When it is 90 outside, it is 90 degree air infiltrating. Not normally an issue at the lower speeds of everyday driving, but when traveling long periods at 70 mph, it is quite a bit of air. A "Rube Goldberg" solution was to duct tape off the air intake behind the grill. It worked fine and even reduced the cabin air noise. Black tape made it invisible from the outside.

However, when returning from warm SWFL back to PA the weather turned cold and wet. The water from shoes, coats, hats, etc. from fueling and walking the dog just fogged the windows. Without outside air to push the air out I just recirculated warm moist air. A quick stop to remove the grill and duct tape and all was well again. So it seems to me that that manual gizmo to close off the air intake might be worthwhile.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

Hi all;I am reposting this to start a new thread. Any one tried that interior air recirculatory setup on the Intrepid site (https://intrepidoverland.com/shop/cabin-air-control/) . Seems like a good way to get around the ol' no a/c on my face problem, and also the leaky air box problem. Problem I can see is the air seems to be drawn from under the dash. Tight area. On the other hand, good area to pull a/c air from/into. Thoughts anyone?? > Dave B.
