Hi All,

This was for an I-4 swap with the diesel bell housing. Two big M12 bolts go through starter, then bell housing, and into the block and are among the 7 that hold the engine and transmission together.. No change to any holes; I ground away a small amount of the casting to get a socket to fit. There seemed to be enough aluminum there that I don't think it will cause an issue long term.

The casting itself was indistinguishable from the Bosch it replaced, but the holes were clearly in a different spot and not lined up with features on the casting. I posted a few photos with an Amazon review, which you should be able to see when it gets through moderation.

(Dennis, I didn't mean to imply in any way that you steered me wrong; I'm always grateful for the knowledge you share. I wanted to add another point of reference for any others weighing this option versus a remanufactured Bosch.)

Alex
