Subject: Vanagon fuel filter mod for my 84 Westy
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

Just about to wrap things up, get an alignment and have fun with my 84 this summer!

Quick question, do you think I’m going to have any issues with the Fuel Filter modification in the attached photo.

I really wanted to have the filter before the pump, to help avoid crap getting into the pump.

It took a bit to get the system primed however, and after reviewing photos from later models, I realized that the later models have the filter following the pump.

Any thoughts on why VW decided to place the filter post pump?

Thanks!

Jack
