Yep, Don and his van are truly legend.  Very glad I got to meet him in person.  Yes, updates on the new kid's cross-country travel back to Alabama with the good and not-good are well appreciated.  We always learn from even the little details.  My prediction is that it will all come out without a hitch.

Don...with your woodworking skills....it will be wonderful to see what you come up with for a Yacht-quality Vanagon.  I'm sure there will be many well-thoughtout surprises and inspirations.  Take your time.

Good luck to new owner as well; and you probably don't have to worry about fuel injection hose replacement (even though it's an inline and not a waterboxer) for quite a few years.  Don has got that covered for sure, he know's his stuff.

Your son has a legend to uphold.  Tell him we expect frequent updates and lurid details. > > Stephen > > On Monday, May 6, 2019, 4:42:55 PM EDT, Chris S <szpejankowski@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > > > My son sold his 1976 Beetle, a car that was his first and daily driver for the last five years.  Tonight he is getting on a plane in Atlanta and flying to Portland to pick up his next vehicle, a 1984 Vanagon.  He is, in essence, coming full circle since I bought my first Vanagon Westfalia when he was just 2 years old.  He practically grew up in one.  He will drive from Portland all the way back to Atlanta via various scenic routes covering about 3000 miles in the process.  I’m glad for him, as not many get the chance to see what he will see and experience what he will experience.  Fingers crossed, AAA membership updated, operators standing by. > > > — Chris > ’64 VW Deluxe > ’90 Westfalia Syncro
